Hanson dusted off their signature song, “MMMBop,” for an acoustic performance on ABC’s Greatest Hits Thursday night.

The audience clapped along to the revamped ’90s tune as Taylor Hanson and Zac Hanson accompanied Isaac Hanson’s guitar with a tambourine and shaker.

During an interview with Vulture earlier this year, Isaac said the reason there aren’t any good covers of the song is because “people can’t sing the chorus right. Most of the time they syncopate it wrong.” Though, Taylor remarked, “Someone needs to either make it totally their own in a genuinely unique way, or it needs to be a band that has a sensibility for old R&B. Fitz and the Tantrums could maybe do it.”

Until then, listen to their acoustic rendition below.

Elsewhere in the episode, Echosmith joined Hanson on stage for a special performance of “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’,” while Meghan Trainor accompanied the Backstreet Boys for “I Want It That Way.”
