Score another victory for Negan, as Jeffrey Dean Morgan is among four actors being promoted to series regulars for The Walking Dead’s upcoming seventh season.

Joining Morgan in the upgrade to main cast, EW has confirmed, are Tom Payne, Xander Berkeley, and Austin Amelio. Morgan’s bump in status comes as no surprise since the show built to Negan’s arrival throughout season 6 and ended with him using his trusty bat, Lucille, to put a hurt on one of the survivors.

The other three additions all recurred on the last season of the AMC hit drama. Payne plays Jesus, a new ally to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and company; Amelio is Dwight, a member of Negan’s Savior group, who happens to have a beef with Daryl (Norman Reedus); and Berkeley is Gregory, the leader of the Hilltop Colony. All four characters originated in Robert Kirkman’s comic.

Bumping these four actors up now brings the show’s series regular credits to 20, pending the funny business with Negan and Lucille.

The Walking Dead returns in October.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the news.
