What to Watch Wednesday: Royal Pains airs its series finale
Plus: What is an 'American Tarzan'?
Your daily guide to the most interesting stuff happening on TV and streaming. All times Eastern.
PICK OF THE NIGHT
USA, 10 p.m.
All you diehard Royal Pains obsessives out there know what this is — the series finale. How will Hank and his crew say farewell to the Hamptons after all these years? Surely while wearing breezy linen shirts, right?
Discovery, 10 p.m.
Now that you’ve seen the Alexander Skarsgård movie, check out this strange new competition series that puts seven contestants on a remote Caribbean island and, like, just lets them go for it. They’re forced to live off the land, find their own food and shelter, and compete in obstacles. The one who does best is crowned “American Tarzan” (because “Swedish Tarzan” is already taken, obviously).
FX, 10 p.m.
The Middle Eastern political drama returns with Barry serving as interim president as the Muslim nation prepares for a democratic election. Just in time for Eid!
PASS THE BILL
Any Given Wednesday With Bill Simmons
HBO, 10 p.m.
Simmons’ freewheeling chat show welcomes the likes of Joe Rogan (Fear Factor), Chris Bosh (the NBA), and Anthony Anderson (black-ish). That’s quite an eclectic collection of males!
