Academy Award winner Steven Soderbergh will produce and possibly direct an upcoming film based the Panama Papers scandal.

The film follows the largest data leak in corporate and government history, referred to as the Panama Papers. Grey Matter Productions acquired the film rights to the forthcoming book, Secrecy World, being written by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jake Bernstein. Anonymous Content, the team behind The Revenant and Spotlight, will co-produce.

Bernstein broke the story, along with an international team of investigative journalists, in April about the Panama Papers, which included more than 11 million leaked records that were part of the papers sourced from a Panamanian law firm.

Soderbergh is currently in pre-production on the comedy Logan Lucky starring Channing Tatum, Riley Keough, and Daniel Craig.
