What is steampunk? We could answer that question by saying it is a subgenre of science fiction or science fantasy that incorporates technology and aesthetic designs inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery (thanks, Wikipedia!). Or we could advise you to check out the new steampunk documentary Vintage Tomorrows, which is released on VOD, via digital platforms, and on DVD, July 19.

Directed by Byrd McDonald, and distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films, the movie features contributions from, among others, author William Gibson, comics writers Anina Bennett and Paul Guinan, and — as a newly-released clip shows — the creators of some delightfully peculiar-looking inventions.
