Learning that your daughter is dating a successful Silicon Valley billionaire may sound great at first — unless that billionaire is a tattooed, unfiltered, and completely profane James Franco.

In the red-band trailer for the upcoming comedy Why Him?, Bryan Cranston stars as the straightlaced dad Ned, who travels to Stanford to visit his daughter (Zoey Deutch of Everybody Wants Some!!) for the holidays. There, he meets her boyfriend Laird (Franco), an insanely wealthy and socially awkward tech founder whose love of expletives and tattoos is only outmatched by his love for Ned’s daughter.

To make matters worse, Laird is planning to pop the question on Christmas Day, and when Ned vehemently refuses to give him his blessing, Laird sets out to win him over, trying everything from an elaborate back tattoo to a custom bowling alley adorned with Ned’s face.

I Love You, Man’s John Hamburg directed and wrote the screenplay with Ian Helfer, from a story by Jonah Hill. Why Him? hits theaters on Dec. 25. Watch the NSFW trailer above.
