It’s one thing to perform the countless hits to Billy Joel’s credit as a cover band. It’s another to perform those songs with Billy Joel. That’s exactly what happened Friday night at the Paramount in Huntington, New York. 

The Piano Man himself surprised the audience by walking out on stage to perform a three-song set with Billy Joel cover band Big Shot. The group consists of Mike DelGuidice on vocals and guitar, Tommy Byrnes on guitar, and Chuck Burgi on drums. As Rolling Stone notes, the trio frequently perform with Joel on tour.  

Joel led Big Shot in renditions of The Beatles’ “With a Little Help From My Friends,” the Rolling Stones’ “Honky Tonk Women,” and a mash-up piece of his own “You May Be Right” and Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll.” See footage from the concert above, as well as photos posted by the band below.
