Maisie Richardson-Sellers has joined the cast of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as the new Vixen, EW has learned.

The Originals alum will play Amaya Jiwe, otherwise known as Vixen, the newest superhero to board the Waverider and join the ranks of the Legends of Tomorrow.

As previously reported, Megalyn E.K. — who voices Vixen, a.k.a Mari McCabe, in the animated spin-off and brought her to life on Arrow — was unavailable to portray the character on Legends, hence the show casting a new Vixen, who happens to be Mari McCabe’s grandmother. Thank you, time travel.

Like her granddaughter, Amaya’s powers are derived from the mysterious Tantu Totem, which allows her to magically access the abilities of animals.

The addition of Richardson-Sellers, whose credits also include Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Of Kings and Prophets, as a series regular comes after the team lost both Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) in the final episodes of the show’s first season. Legends will also be introducing the Justice Society of America in season 2, with Nick Zano already on board to play Dr. Nate Heywood.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
