Don’t mess with the babysitter(s)

Disney Channel’s 100th original movie, a remake of 1987’s Adventures in Babysitting, debuts on Friday, and the latest dose of nostalgia celebrating its release is aimed at fans of the ‘80s classic rather than the DCOM-loving ‘90s kids for whom they, well, babysat.

A video posted to Disney Channel’s YouTube account mashes up the remake and the Chris Columbus-directed original, which stars Elisabeth Shue as the unfortunate babysitter who takes her young charges (including a teenage Anthony Rapp!) on an adventure all over Chicago to rescue her friend who is stranded at the bus station.

Girl Meets World’s Sabrina Carpenter and Descendants’ Sofia Carson star as two competing babysitters in Disney Channel’s new Adventures, which promises to be just as wild and wacky a journey as the 1987 movie. The Friday night airing will be followed by the premiere of new series Bizaardvark.

Alas, no appearance of the “Babysitting Blues” in the mash-up, but thankfully, Carson has said that the new DCOM features rap battles — so it looks like you’ll have to tune in Friday night to catch these babysitters’ impromptu musical stylings.

Check out the mash-up above. The new Adventures in Babysitting will premiere Friday, June 24, at 8 p.m. ET on Disney Channel. Check out Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Carson talking about the upcoming movie below:
