Jack Reacher: Never Go Back trailer video debuts with Tom Cruise
Jack Reacher is back.
Paramount has released a new trailer for Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, showing Tom Cruise’s return as the title character from Lee Child’s series of novels.
In the clip, a pair of officers attempt to take Reacher in as he sits in a diner after he singlehandedly takes down a group of men with his bare hands. “Two things are going to happen in the next 90 seconds,” he explains, after they’ve handcuffed him. “First, that phone is going to ring. Second, you’re gonna be wearing these cuffs on your way to prison.”
The men laugh, but sure enough — the phone rings, and you can guess what happens next.
Never Go Back follows Reacher as he returns to Virginia to meet the head of his former unit, only to find that she’s missing and he’s being charged with a crime committed nearly two decades ago.
Amid the explosions, car chases, and fight scenes, Reacher issues a warning to those he’s up against as he’s on the run. “You think you’re above the law,” he says. “But I’m not the law, so you should start running because I’m gonna start hunting — and when I find you, I’m gonna kill you all.”
Never Go Back, also starring Cobie Smulders and Aldis Hodge, opens in theaters on Oct. 21. Watch the trailer above, and check out two new images below.
