Broadway stars — a good 60 of them, ranging from Lin-Manuel Miranda to Audra McDonald to Idina Menzel to Sean Hayes — joined voices last week to honor the victims of the mass shooting at Orlando’s Pulse nightclub by recording a cover of Burt Bacharach and Hal David’s “What the World Needs Now Is Love.” Sales of the single, which was released this week as part of the Broadway for Orlando initiative, will benefit the LGBT Center of Central Florida.

Much of the Broadway for Orlando team reassembled on Tuesday night’s installment of Maya & Marty, the NBC sketch comedy starring Maya Rudolph and Martin Short. Joined by Rudolph, Short, and their costar Kenan Thompson, several dozen theater stars, including Hayes, Megan Hilty, Andrea Martin, Rosie Perez, Roger Bart, and Michael Cerveris, sang the song while images of support from around the globe were shown.

“What the World Needs Now Is Love” can be purchased at and iTunes, and you can check out the live performance below.
