Not Safe With Nikki Glaser

Persky is the last name of the judge who gave Brock Turner a six-month jail sentence for rape. And, if comedian Nikki Glaser has her way, it’s also the word for “a rape apologist.”

“Let’s put it in a sentence,” she says in a clip from an upcoming episode of Comedy Central’s Not Safe With Nikki Glaser. “‘The school principal was a total Persky when he said girls with big boobs were distracting the boys.'”

“Turning his name into the definition of rape apologist might be a little extreme,” she continues, “but come on: He’s asking for it.”

Judge Aaron Persky has received widespread criticsm — including from the victim, who gave a powerful statement in court — after handing Turner the light sentence. For context, the prosecutor in the case was aiming for a six-year sentence. Persky’s since been blocked from hearing a new sexual assault case.

Watch the clip from Not Safe, which airs Tuesdays at 10:30 p.m. ET on Comedy Central, below.
