Aaron Paul was 'struggling to pay rent' before 'Breaking Bad' role
- TV Show
After making it big with his role in Breaking Bad, Aaron Paul went on to feature in films including Need for Speed, Exodus: Gods and Kings, and Triple 9. But before the hit AMC series, he admitted to Stephen Colbert on The Late Show things weren’t going well.
“Right before Breaking Bad I was just struggling to pay my rent,” he said. “I didn’t know when my next paycheck was coming, and I had to ask my family to help pay my bills, which is just so embarrassing.” He added, “I was mid-20s, had no money, and then I read the pilot for Breaking Bad and I knew I had to fight for it. And they gave it to me.”
Now Paul has a steady role in the Hulu series The Path, he appears in this weekend’s new movie Central Intelligence with Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, and he voices Todd Chavez in the Netflix series Bojack Horseman. He’s not struggling anymore.
