When EW brought together Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones — the four leads of this summer’s highly-anticipated comedy Ghostbusters — nothing was off limits, not even set secrets. It’s mid-March, we are in a huge suite in a Las Vegas hotel, and McKinnon has changed out of her Ghostbusters-embroidered Converse into a pair of fancy stilettos. This is what happened when we asked about the craziest moment of improv that surely wouldn’t land in the movie.

JONES: She farted. [Points to McKinnon]

McKINNON: F— you!

WIIG: Oh my god, you answered that so fast!

McCARTHY: [Laughing, to Jones] Please don’t know anything important and then get captured by another country, because you will give it up instantly.

JONES: [To McKinnon] You going to put your Converse back on and tell them about the farts?

McKINNON: Alright, whatever. I farted on camera. I’m starting to think something is wrong with me. [Laughs] I’ve never been to a gastroenterologist because to me it’s always been normal, but I’m starting to feel like it’s too much and I ought to get it checked out.

JONES: Please, Jesus, help her.

McKINNON: But I also think it’s charming and so I kind of don’t want it to go away — like when Joan Allen’s face turns color in Pleasantville [does gritted teeth impression of Allen in that movie]: “I don’t want it to go away.”

WIIG: That is why I love you.

McKINNON: I wasn’t going to bring it up, but I guess the fart’s out of the bag. Thank you Leslie. My dear friend, Leslie Jones. My beautiful friend, sister, and colleague. My mother will be so proud.
