Peter Gabriel has shared a new song, “I’m Amazing,” and it’s partly inspired by the recent death of boxing legend Muhammad Ali. Though Gabriel says he wrote the track “a few years back,” he explained in a statement why he decided to release it now.

“‘I’m Amazing’ … was, in part, inspired by Muhammad Ali’s life and struggles and at the time of his death, when so many people are celebrating his life and thinking about all he achieved, it seemed the right time to release it,” Gabriel wrote. Ali died earlier this month at the age of 74 from septic shock, after being admitted to a hospital for a respiratory problem.

Gabriel last released an album in 2013, but the rocker will kick off a summer tour with Sting next week in Columbus, Ohio. When the string of dates was announced in January, a release said that the two musicians would “meld their bands to explore each other’s most celebrated hits.”
