The spirits in The Conjuring 2 have found a new film to haunt.

New Line tells EW the studio is in development on The Nun, a spin-off to the recent James Wan haunter. The story will be based on the breakout character that Patrick Wilson’s Ed Warren painted in the latest movie.

Orphan and Conjuring 2 writer David Leslie Johnson will write the nun-centric story. James Wan and Peter Safran are also set to produce. New Line confirmed that no additional details, including a director or cast, are known at this time.

The demonic nun played a large role in the sequel to The Conjuring as a malevolent being that attacked Vera Farmiga’s character Lorraine Warren several times, as well as the British family the film is centered around.

This is not the first spin-off of the supernatural thriller franchise. The 2014 worldwide hit Annabelle was born directly from the success of The Conjuring and the demon-possessed doll that played a large part in that movie.

Fans can get their first “scare greeting” from the nun with The Conjuring 2 in theaters now.

The Hollywood Reporter first reported the story.
