It’s been three years since we’ve heard new solo music from Danny Brown. The streak broke Tuesday.

The Detroit rapper returned with “When It Rain,” a trippy installment to Brown’s already eclectic oeuvre. Brown links up again with producer Paul White, who created beats on the rapper’s last two albums, XXX and Old.

Mimi Cave directed the video, which was shot in Brown’s hometown — showing many people dancing — through a VHS aesthetic as the filter.

Warp Records debuted the song and video, also announcing the label is Brown’s new home, indicating he is working on his next album to follow 2013’s Old.

Check out Brown’s new song and video above.
