Ellen DeGeneres remembers Christina Grimmie
Ellen DeGeneres has joined the chorus of celebrities who have paid tribute to the singer Christina Grimmie following her tragic death Friday.
Several years before her third-place finish on NBC’s The Voice in 2014, Grimmie was a 17-year-old YouTube star who was asked to perform on DeGeneres’ show. On Monday, DeGeneres took to Twitter to remember the late singer, posting a picture of Grimmie’s 2011 appearance on The Ellen Show. “Christina Grimmie was a talented young woman with so much ahead of her,” DeGeneres wrote. “I’m sending love to her family and fans.”
The comedian and talk show host’s tweet follows tributes from Selena Gomez and Meaghan Trainor, who both dedicated recent performances to their late friend. And Adam Levine, who was Grimmie’s coach on The Voice, has offered to pay for the late singer’s funeral, according to her brother.
