Warning: This story contains major spoilers from Monday’s episode of 12 Monkeys. Read at your own risk!

Sad, but true: Not everyone will make it out of this season of 12 Monkeys alive.

During Monday’s episode, Jennifer Goines (Emily Hampshire) and Cole (Aaron Stanford) took the fight to the Army of the 12 Monkeys, luring the Pallid Man (Tom Noonan) into a trap to ascertain the location of the final Primary, whose paradoxical death could cause the end of the world.

Meanwhile, in the future, Railly (Amanda Schull) and Ramse (Kirk Acevedo) visited the truth-obsessed Keeper (Christopher Heyerdahl), who revealed a clue to finding the location of Titan, and therefore the location of the Witness. But Jennifer earlier cautioned that the search for Titan leads to death.

With that said, EW can now reveal that a main character will perish by season’s end. “As Cole says in the episode, Jennifer’s got 20 years on all of them and has been through adventures that Cole and Cassie haven’t even experienced yet,” executive producer Terry Matalas says. “In that way, she knows how a lot of this is going to play out. When she says the search for Titan leads to death, you should listen; she knows what she’s talking about.”

“No one is safe,” Matalas adds. “Yes, it is a time-travel show. People think, ‘Well, it’s a time travel, you can go back and save a death or see them again.’ That won’t always be the case. There’s significant consequences for doing that. This season, everybody is going to have to face the darkness that’s coming. There’s no stopping it.”
