Tegan & Sarah lip-dub Pride month proposal: Try not to tear up

Tegan and Sara superfan Stu thought his boyfriend DeAndré was just taking him to brunch. Little did he know that an adorable — and carefully choreographed — proposal awaited him.

In a video DeAndré posted to YouTube, he first blindfolds Stu in the back of an open car trunk (à la this classic proposal). Then, with headphones blasting Tegan and Sara’s “Closer,” DeAndré lip syncs and dances to the catchy tune. Family and friends join in as Stu starts to get wind of what’s happening. It’s impeccably chereographed and costumed — and what would a proposal be without a marching band and oversized cardboard cut-outs of the couple’s faces?

The proposal was timed with June’s Pride Month, which celebrates the LGBT community.
