Grey's Anatomy: Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, and more sign new deals
More good news coming out of Grey Sloan Memorial: EW has learned that ABC has closed new deals with Justin Chambers, Chandra Wilson, James Pickens Jr., and Kevin McKidd. All of the actors will be returning to Grey’s Anatomy for season 13.
The announcement comes after ABC recently wrapped up a successful negotiation with Ellen Pompeo. Terms of all the deals — like how long ABC will have them for — have not been released.
Grey’s Anatomy just wrapped its 12th season as ABC’s No. 1 drama — an enormous feat given the high-profile departure of Patrick Dempsey last year.
Recently, Sara Ramirez announced that she wouldn’t return to the show for season 13, though her comments seemed to indicate there is a chance she may don the scrubs again.
“I’m deeply grateful to have spent the last 10 years with my family atGrey’s Anatomy and ABC, but for now I’m taking some welcome time off,” Ramirez said in a statement announcing her exit. “Shonda’s been so incredible to work for, and we will definitely continue our conversations! I send my love to Ellen, the rest of the cast and crew, and I look forward to always being a part of the Shondaland family!”
