If there’s one thing we always knew about Matt Saracen, it’s that the former Dillon Panthers quarterback loves his grandmother. Now five years after the show has ended, Friday Night Lights alums Zach Gilford and Louanne Stephens have reunited.
The former costars came together for the first time since the series ended in 2011, and Stephens took to Twitter to share the moment. “Got emotional hadn’t seen grandson in 5 years; he’s so kind, smart,” she wrote.
The sweet reunion took place in Austin, Texas where the beloved series filmed. Gilford is in town for ATX Festival, where there’s a FNL reunion happening, appropriately, Friday night, while his wife, Kingdom actress Kiele Sanchez, made an appearance Thursday on her DirecTV show’s panel.
A FNL movie has long been rumored, but Coach Taylor himself has shot down such an idea. “It ended so well, it ended beautifully,” Kyle Chandler told EW last year. “And I was more than happy for it to end when it did, because you couldn’t have gone much further.”
Crying eyes, sad hearts, can’t win.
