Looks like the Descendants are heading under the sea!

On Friday, Disney Channel annouced a sequel to last year’s hit movie-musical Descendants, which told the story of the next generation of Disney supervillains. On board for the new tale is China Anne McClain (ANT Farm) as Uma, the daughter of sea-witch Ursula from The Little Mermaid.

McClain joins returning castmembers Dove Cameron (Mal), Cameron Boyce (Carlos), Booboo Stewart (Jay), Sofia Carson (Evie), and Mitchell Hope (King Ben). The sequel will also introduce the kids of Peter Pan’s Captain Hook and Beauty and the Beast’s Gaston, soon to be cast.

Kenny Ortega (High School Musical) returns to the director’s chair fresh off Fox’s highly-anticipated remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Writers Sara Parriott and Josann McGibbon will come back to pen the new script.

Descendants 2 begins filming later this summer with a premiere slated for 2017 on Disney Channel.
