Barbra Streisand releases 'At the Ballet' with Anne Hathaway and Daisy Ridley
After revealing her album cover on Thursday, Barbra Streisand continues to tease for her Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway. The album features Streisand and a to-be-announced cast of film stars singing Broadway classics. On Friday, Streisand dropped the first track, “At the Ballet” from A Chorus Line, featuring Anne Hathaway and Daisy Ridley.
Streisand sings as Sheila while Hathaway plays Maggie and Ridley assumes Bebe. Together they sing about their troubled pasts while auditioning for roles in the ballet.
Both Streisand and Hathaway were nominated and won Oscars for musical roles over the years. Ridley broke out last year in her first film role in the latest Star Wars installment, but her singing ability comes as a happy surprise.
Streisand’s tour “Barbra: The Music, The Mem’ries, The Magic” kicks off in Los Angeles on August 2 ahead of Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway‘s release August 26. For more information including tour dates and tickets, check out her website.
