Ahead of the premiere of Independence Day: Resurgence, Hollywood actor Jeff Goldblum took the time to meet up with his doppelgänger, Earth Space Defense director David Levinson. The resulting video is meant to “debunk one of the biggest War of 1996 conspiracy theories: David Levinson and Jeff Goldblum are not the same person.”

“Now that I see you, the resemblance is fleeting,” Levinson mused, to which Goldblum responded, “Well, you think so? I kind of think there’s a similarity.”

The two tall, bespectacled men examined one another, and while Goldblum was very familiar with Levinson, the scientist couldn’t seem to place the actor’s work, confusing Goldblum with Dabney Coleman and Bowzer from Sha Na Na.

This is the latest video Goldblum has done to promote the upcoming Independence Day sequel. A couple of weeks ago, he hosted a variety show on Facebook Live themed around the movie and his backgroun as a jazz pianist. Independence Day: Resurgence will hit theaters on June 24.
