Carr wrote for the Times from 2002 until his death in 2015. His acclaimed memoir The Night of the Gun, an honest exploration of his battle with addiction, will become an AMC miniseries starring Better Call Saul‘s Bob Odenkirk.

Erin Lee Carr’s book will contain meditations on grief, loss, and her relationship with her father. Interspersed throughout the book, she will include correspondence with her father. She previously published an essay entitled “Still Rendering” about her father on the first anniversary of his death.
