FX has ordered a comedy pilot written by and starring Cristin Milioti and Nina Pedrad.

The project from the duo centers on Maxine, her best friends, and stepbrother as they attempt to figure out the difficulty that is adulthood.

Milioti, who recently starred on the network’s Fargo and turned out to be the titular character of CBS’s How I Met Your Mother, will play Maxine, an entitled and dysfunctional actress, who now works as a process server. Pedrad, a writer and producer on Fox’s New Girl, will star as Natalie, one of Maxine’s best friends. Natalie, sharp witted and scientifically inclined, sells weed and prescription drugs, while refusing to call herself a drug dealer. The two other main roles have yet to be cast.

“We are so excited to be working with a network as fearless as FX and are honored to potentially join the fives of shows about women on television today,” Milioti and Pedrad said in a statement.

Both actors will be executive producers, while Pedrad will serve as showrunner.
