Sally Field is going back to Broadway.
The Oscar-winning actress will once again star as Amanda Wingfield in a new Broadway production of The Glass Menagerie. Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, American Horror Story star Finn Wittrock, and newcomer Madison Ferris will also star, with Sam Gold directing and Scott Rudin producing.
Field previously starred as Amanda in the 2004 Kennedy Center staging of The Glass Menagerie, and she made her Broadway debut in Edward Albee’s 2002 play The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia.
“To say this is a dream come true is an understatement,” Field said in a release. “Working with the best of the best, from Sam Gold to Joe Mantello to Scott Rudin, on one of the greatest plays ever written is beyond thrilling. Right now I can barely breathe. Hopefully that’ll pass.”
