Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?

James Franco revamps Lifetime’s thriller Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? with emphasis on the “vamp” part. The trailer for the film, developed from a story by Franco, brings back original star Tori Spelling for a new spin involving a young lesbian couple with a vampire twist.

The original told the story of a mother who discovers her daughter (Spelling) is dating a murderer (Ivan Sergei). This time, Spelling takes the role of the mother, who, after the shock of her daughter (Leila George) coming out as a lesbian, discovers the girlfriend (Emily Meade) is a blood-sucking vampire.

Franco also acts in the remake and serves as executive producer alongside Vince Jolivette, Diane Sokolow, and Rachel Verno. Melanie Aitkenhead directs from a script written by Amber Coney.

Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? will premiere on Lifetime on June 18 at 8 p.m. ET.
