Navy SEAL Team 'SIX' takes on risky mission in new clip — exclusive
HISTORY series premieres July 18
HISTORY is taking audiences into the intense military action of Afghanistan in the new series SIX, and EW has an exclusive first look.
Following Navy SEAL Team Six, whose 2014 mission was to eliminate a Taliban leader in Afghanistan, their plan goes awry when they uncover a U.S. citizen working as a jihadist fighter with the terrorists.
The clip, which will debut during the Monday premiere of HISTORY’s Roots, reveals an impressive cast including Barry Sloane (Revenge), Juan Pablo Raba (Narcos), Edwin Hodge (Chicago Fire), and Kyle Schmid (Copper). Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight) rounds out the cast as a former troop chief captured by a militant group.
SIX has a strong behind-the-scenes pedigree: William Broyles (Apollo 13 and Jarhead) and David Broyles, a military special operations veteran, wrote the eight-episode series and will also executive produce. Karen Campbell (Dexter) will also serve as a writer for the episodes.
Harvey and Bob Weinstein are also set to executive produce, along with Alfredo Barrios, Jr. (Burn Notice) and George W. Perkins (Live from Baghdad). Bruce C. McKenna (Band of Brothers, The Pacific) will serve as Executive Consultant alongside the Broyleses.
SIX premieres Monday, July 18 at 10 p.m. ET on HISTORY.
