Nick Jonas on Miley Cyrus: 'I'm proud of her'
The EW cover star calls 'Wrecking Ball' 'one of the best pop songs of the last 10 years'
Nick Jonas is one of the busiest stars of the summer — it’s why the 23-year-old graces the cover of Entertainment Weekly’s Ultimate Summer Preview issue, on newsstands now — but he still has time to look back on some past relationships.
Speaking to EW, Jonas discussed where he stands with ex-girlfriend Miley Cyrus, who — like Jonas — rose to fame working on the Disney Channel.
“I don’t have a relationship with her now, really, but that’s not because we have any bad blood — we just sort of run in different circles,” Jonas said.
Cyrus’ visibility has exploded in recent years, thanks in part to her hit single “Wrecking Ball,” off the 2013 album Bangerz. It’s a track Jonas says he loves “so much.”
“I still think it’s one of the best pop songs of the last 10 years,” Jonas told EW of the song, which has become Cyrus’ signature hit. “And you know, she’s always been outspoken and authentic to who she is, so it was only a matter of time before she really owned that, and I’m proud of her.”
