EW cover star Nick Jonas has spent a full decade as a mainstream pop star, split between sibling act Jonas Brothers and his solo career. Along the way, he picked up dozens of musical influences, revealing some of his personal faves on the set of his EW cover shoot.

From the music of his childhood (his first album was Switchfoot’s The Beautiful Letdown and his idol growing up was Elvis Costello) to his favorite songs of today (Drake’s “One Dance” is his current party anthem), Jonas took us through the music that has shaped his life and career.

As he prepares to release his second solo album, called Last Year Was Complicated, and start a summer tour with Demi Lovato, hear Jonas look back on the soundtrack to his life in the video above.
