Tom Ford's first movie in 7 years has release date
Starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Adams, and Michael Shannon
The highly anticipated, star-studded second film from Tom Ford, the fashion designer turned film director who made his feature debut with 2009’s A Single Man, is officially set for an awards season run.
Nocturnal Animals, written and directed by Ford, will get an exclusive release from Focus Features on Nov. 18, before expanding on Nov. 23 and going wide on Dec. 9.
Based on Austin Wright’s novel, Tony and Susan, the story follows an art gallery owner, who is haunted by a violent thriller novel that her ex-husband wrote. She begins to worry the novel serves both as a threat and a symbolic tale of revenge.
Besides getting a plum awards season release, the film will feature several actors who are no strangers to awards season: Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Michael Shannon. Aaron-Taylor Johnson, Isla Fisher, Armie Hammer, Laura Linney, and Ellie Bamber round out the cast.
