Deepwater Horizon

  • Movie

It’s been a little more than six years since the BP oil disaster spilled hundreds of millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf of Mexico in an explosion that left 11 men dead. Now, the new trailer for Peter Berg’s upcoming disaster movie Deepwater Horizon shines a light on a few of the men and women working on the rig at the time — and how they bravely fought to save their fellow crew members and themselves.

While the film’s first trailer focused primarily on Mark Wahlberg as Mike Williams, an electronics technician on the Deepwater Horizon rig with a wife (Kate Hudson) and young daughter, the new trailer introduces a few of the other rig workers and BP employees, including Dylan O’Brien as Caleb Holloway, Kurt Russell as Jimmy Harrell, Gina Rodriguez as Andrea Fleytas, and John Malkovich as Donald Vidrine.

In addition to sharing the new trailer, the film also released five new character posters, which you can check out below. Deepwater Horizon opens on Sept. 30.
