Captain America Hydra plot twist: Chris Evans reacts

This week featured a big plot twist in the life of Captain America. Even as the star-spangled hero continues to fight for justice on the screen in Civil War, the first issue of the comic series Captain America: Steve Rogers revealed that the Marvel Universe’s most recognizable leader is actually an undercover Hydra operative. Although this comic-book plot twist doesn’t have bearing on the movies for now, actor Chris Evans still expressed surprise on Twitter.

In other words, Evans had the same reaction as the rest of us. Time will tell how this storyline plays out, but Marvel’s Tom Brevoort and Nick Spencer are adamant that this is not a clone or a fake-out, but the real Steve Rogers. Hail Hydra.
