Who needs an algorithm to discover new tunes? Each week, EW’s crack team of music experts will comb through the charts to seek out similar-sounding songs to the ones you’ve overplayed. This week, check out swaps for songs by Chance the Rapper, Ariana Grande, and more

Like “Blessings” by Chance the Rapper?

The Chicago rapper’s latest bit of joyful noise – the gospel-influenced Coloring Book mixtape – is so good it almost makes you want to actually sign up for Apple Music, and he lays out the blueprint on “Blessings,” a loping, lovable winner that’s too grateful to be hateful. Backed by a churchly organ and a congregation that includes Donnie Trumpet and Jamila Woods, Chance dismisses all manner of earthly distractions (“Ain’t no Twitter in heaven,” he cracks) and turns his gaze skyward. And free of his bonds, he’s practically weightless, bounding from verse to verse with gleeful abandon. It’s the gospel, according to him.
