When the great Elvis Costello sang “Clowntime Is Over,” he clearly wasn’t referring to the release schedule of forthcoming horror movies. That is packed with movies about clowns, from Clowntown, to The Night Watchmen, to Clown, the trailer for which has just been released.

Produced by gore-teur Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel) and directed by Jon Watts (Cop Car, the upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming) the film concerns a loving father who puts on a clown outfit to perform at his son’s sixth birthday, only to discover that his own personality changes in a horrific fashion.

Clown is released in theaters and on VOD, June 17. You can see the film’s trailer, above.
