Jeff Bridges and Taylor Kitsch are jumping into the fire. The actors are the latest to join an untitled firefighter drama also starring Miles Teller, Josh Brolin, and James Badge Dale, Lionsgate confirmed to EW.

Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy) will direct the fact-based film, inspired by the Granite Mountain Hotshots, a group of Arizona firefighters. In 2013, they attempted to suppress the Yarnell Hill Fire, resulting in the deaths of 19 of 20 crew members. Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) and Eric Singer (American Hustle) wrote the screenplay based on a GQ article titled “No Exit” — the film’s original name.

Lionsgate — via Summit Entertainment — picked up worldwide distribution for the movie Friday, marking another collaboration with Black Label Productions (Sicario).

Bridges provided the voice of The Aviator in The Little Prince, due on Netflix later this year. He’ll appear in the heist drama Hell or High Water with Ben Foster, out Aug. 12. Meanwhile, Kitsch will star in Xavier Dolan’s next movie, The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, which aims for a 2017 release. He appeared in season 2 of HBO’s True Detective last summer.

Variety first reported the news.
