We know you can fit a very large amount of clowns into a very small car. But how many clown-featuring horror movies can you fit into the release schedule? The answer is also quite a few, it seems.

Upcoming movies specifically designed to terrify coulrophobes include the Eli Roth-produced Clown (out June 17), the Rob Zombie-directed 31 (out Sept. 16), the upcoming big screen version of Stephen King’s It, the seemingly splatter-tastic The Night Watchmen, and Clowntown, the trailer for which has just been released.

Directed by first-time filmmaker Tom Nagel, Clowntown concerns a group of friends who get stranded in a seemingly deserted town and find themselves stalked by a gang of violent psychopaths dressed as clowns. The film stars, among others, Lauren Elise, Brian Nagel, Andrew Staton, Katie Keene, and Chris Hahn as “Machete Clown,” which may be my favorite credit of the year so far,

You can learn more about Clowntown at the film’s official website — and you can see the movie’s trailer, above.
