Cannes roundup: Richard Gere, Chloe Sevigny drama The Dinner picked up
- Check, please! The Orchard has acquired North American rights to The Dinner, Oren Moverman‘s drama starring Richard Gere, Steve Coogan, Laura Linney, Rebecca Hall, and Chloë Sevigny. Based on the novel by Herman Koch, the film centers on two adult brothers (Gere and Coogan) and their spouses (Hall and Linney), who meet at a posh restaurant to discuss a dark secret involving their respective children. A fall release is planned.
- Focus Features is circling the horror movie Raw, which marks the directing debut of French filmmaker Julia Ducournau.
