Improv is all about living in the moment, the new trailer for Mike Birbiglia’s Don’t Think Twice explains. That becomes hard to do once a member of the movie’s starring improv troupe loses a member to an Saturday Night Live-inspired sketch show.

Birbiglia, who wrote and directed the dark comedy, stars alongside Gillian Jacobs, Keegan-Michael Key, Chris Gethard, Kate Micucci, and Tami Sagher in the movie, which first premiered at South by Southwest to overwhelmingly positive reviews.

“I tried to make a movie that hearkens back to the films that I fell in love with in the ’70s and the ’80s that make you laugh and then make you cry,” Birbiglia recently told EW. “That’s the goal.”
