Fresh Off the Boat: Ken Jeong guest stars in finale — first look
Here’s another piece of evidence of a shared ABC universe: Ken Jeong is a member of the Huang family.
The star of Dr. Ken star heads to Orlando and Fresh Off the Boat for the sitcom’s season 2 finale. EW has an exclusive first look of Jeong’s character, who reunites with his brother Louis (Randall Park) and the rest of the Huangs.
Here’s what to expect, via the show’s official synopsis: “Louis’ estranged brother, Gene (Jeong), comes to visit, and he has big news to share with the family. And Eddie tries to find creative ways to watch the latest Chris Rock age-inappropriate stand-up comedy special despite his parents’ and brothers’ disapproval.”
EW has an exclusive first look at the family’s reunion, as Louis & co. greet Gene at the airport. It only takes minutes for the brothers to engage in, according to Eddie, a Chinese polite fight. “These things can get hella intense,” he says.
It’s not the first time actors from the two ABC shows have crossed over. Albert Tsai first guest-starred on Fresh Off the Boat before landing a series regular role on Dr. Ken. Evan Huang — played by Ian Chen — is Tsai’s ’90s on-screen rival in Fresh Off the Boat, but plays a new neighbor on Jeong’s show.
Fresh Off the Boat concludes season 2 on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
