Uzo Aduba has resonated with Orange Is the New Black fans as Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren — and she doesn’t quite get it.

“I don’t know why people respond to Suzanne,” she says of her beloved character in the exclusive clip above. “I wish I did. I would bottle it if I did, but I don’t know.”

Still, Aduba isn’t lacking evidence — specifically, two Emmys and two SAG awards — that her portrayal is a hit. And it might have something to do with her appreciation for Suzanne. When asked to explain what she loves most about the big personality, Aduba replies, “Everything. I love her spirit of play and I love her joy.”

Aduba’s interview and more bonus content will be available on May 17, when Netflix makes season 3 available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD. One month later, on June 17, season 4 will be released on Netflix.

Jenji Kohan’s absorbing ensemble dramedy, based on Piper Kerman’s memoir of the same name, takes viewers inside the walls of Litchfield, a minimum security women’s prison where nothing’s as simple as it seems—especially the inmates.
