Time for a CBS traffic report: There’s not gonna be a Rush Hour this fall.
The network has decided not to renew the midseason buddy cop comedy based on the hit film franchise for a second season.
Rush Hour stars Justin Hires and Jon Foo as Los Angeles detectives. The dramedy launched in March, but has really struggled in the ratings — averaging 5.4 million viewers and a 1.1 rating on Thursday nights — and received mixed-to-negative critical reviews. Two more episodes are currently scheduled.
CBS had fewer bubble shows than any of the Big 4 networks this year. In the run-up to its upfront presentation to advertisers this week, CBS also pulled the plug on CSI: Cyber. The only lingering question mark: Freshman drama Limitless, which was notably not among CBS’ last-minute pickups annonced earlier today, but has also not been canceled.
