Here’s hoping the views of the stage are great for Drake’s return to Studio 8H.

Hot off his latest album release Views, Drake steps up to pull double duty as host and musical guest for the second time (his third overall for musical appearances) on Saturday Night Live.

The rapper and actor first hosted in 2014 with an impressively strong stint that made his return to SNL only a matter of when, not if. (Take, for example, this Indiana Jones theme park ride sketch. The bit itself was that night’s biggest clunker — the silence still rings incredibly awkward as almost every punchline falls flat — but Drake infuses the material with enough energy and commitment to make even the worst jokes thrown his way palatable.)

Drake’s mixture of musical and acting backgrounds make him an ideal candidate to be filling both guest roles on an SNL episode, and he certainly set a high bar with his first outing that will hopefully be met this time around. And with last week’s Brie Larson episode offering a nice uptick after a weak April set of shows, SNL has hopefully not run out of fuel ahead of the penultimate show of the season.

Not that there’s any shortage of material to pull from in an election year, and last week’s episode certainly saw a focus on Ted Cruz and Donald Trump. Might it be time for Kate McKinnon’s Hillary Clinton and Larry David’s Bernie Sanders to revisit the show, or will SNL be saving them for its finale? Darrell Hammond’s Trump is more likely to return yet again, perhaps to either interrupt a Drake-hosted PSA for Americans to move to Canada or to address the recent story of whether Trump pretended to be his own publicist.

Though naturally the biggest question of the night is what sketch caused Drake to shave his beard?

To find out that and more, tune in at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC and come back here to discuss the show as it happens. And check out on Sunday morning for our full recap of the show.
