Jimmy Kimmel received a huge surprise during his monologue on Monday night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live: an appearance from Ryan Gosling and Will Ferrell.

The actors were on hand to sell Donald Trump-branded knives.

“You can’t cut something classy with something trashy,” Ferrell said, referencing both the knives and Trump Steaks, an actual product the Republican presidential candidate has in the marketplace.

The knives, which are golden, won raves from Gosling. “That Trump knife is huge,” the actor said. “That’s a great knife, and I know, because I know all the great knives.”

Asked by Kimmel if Trump actually knows the actors are selling knives in Trump’s name, Ferrell said no. But there’s a good reason for the subterfuge. “No, Mr. Trump doesn’t know about this. Because he’s super busy making America great again.”

All of this came during a segment called “The Knife Guys,” a pun on Gosling’s new movie The Nice Guys, which costars Russell Crowe. By the end, Gosling and Ferrell were ready to try out their Trump knives, cutting into a Trump steak (also golden). The piece cut by Ferrell ended up being too big for Gosling, however, who choked on it until Kimmel saved the day by doing the Heimlich maneuver. Not that Gosling was thankful. “Thanks for ruining our whole thing, jerk,” Gosling said to Kimmel, before flipping the host off as he left the stage.
