Fergie 2016 album: Josh Duhamel teases 'amazing' new music
The actor says his wife's latest will arrive "literally any minute"
Big girls don’t cry … unless it’s of excitement when they find out Fergie is about to release new music.
PEOPLE caught up with Josh Duhamel while he was attending the Kentucky Derby Saturday with G.H. Mumm champagne, and the actor revealed his wife’s much-anticipated new tunes should be out very soon.
“It should be coming out like literally any minute,” he said. “It’s all ready to go, now it’s a matter of what’s going to be released first and you know how it’s all going to be released.”
As for how he thinks fans will react?
“People are going to be amazed. It’s so good,” said Duhamel, 43. “I’m really, really proud of her and the work she’s put into it. It’s amazing.”
According to Duhamel, the pop star has been working on her second solo album for “close to two years” – and she didn’t give her husband a sneak peek at any of it until it was absolutely perfect.
“She’s pretty protective over it, so she plays it for me when it’s ready,” he said. “She wants everything to be perfect before she lets me hear anything.”
Now, though, he’s “heard pretty much [all of it]” and he can’t wait for it to drop: “I’m truly excited for people to hear it, cause they’re going to be blown away by it. It’s amazing.”
While the former Black Eyed Peas lead singer, 41, has dropped new music here and there in recent years, including hit single “L.A. Love (La La)”, it’s been almost a decade since she released her debut solo album, The Dutchess.
And though an official release date for the album hasn’t been revealed, we can probably be pretty certain of one thing: It’s going to be Fergalicious.
