Real Time with Bill Maher

Comedian Andrew Dice Clay has been a controversial figure, thanks to his often deemed offensive persona, “The Diceman.” In an interview with Rolling Stone he even recalled a meeting with filmmaker Woody Allen in which the comic made a point to say, “I need you to know that Andrew is in the room, not the Diceman.”

It’s in this regard Bill Maher thinks Clay and Donald Trump are alike.

During a discussion with Van Jones, Lesley Stahl, and Charles Cooke on HBO’s Real Time, Maher said Trump doesn’t have to change his personality because “they’re presenting this scenario that it’s a ‘character.'”

He continued, “It’s like Andrew Dice Clay. Sometimes he goes, ‘I’m just being Andrew. I’m not Dice now.’ And then Trump puts on the leather jacket, ‘Hey! Hickory dickory dock. A Mexican went up the f–ing clock.'” Maher added that Trump’s political persona is “not really Donald Trump.”
