The singing mutant appears on an album cover and looks a lot like the '1989' singer
Anyone familiar with the classic X-Men arcade game should be psyched about this news: Dazzler, the singing mutant who also can unleash light blasts and was one of the video game’s main characters, gets a cameo in X-Men: Apocalypse.
Apocalypse star Sophie Turner, who plays Jean Grey in the film, revealed this photo from the film in which she, Cyclops (Tye Sheridan), and Jubilee (Lana Condor) are record shopping and find Dazzler’s album, Sounds of Light and Fury. Turner calls her “our favorite singer’s album (pre-1989 of course)” which, has led the folks at Collider to pontificate that maybe Dazzler is none other than Taylor Swift.
It does makes sense given that the X-Men cast took in Taylor Swift’s 1989 tour last summer and Apocalypse producer/writer Simon Kinberg is a self-admitted Swift superfan.
Could this mean that we could eventually see Dazzler (and T. Swfit) joining the X-Men in future films?
X-Men: Apocalypse is out May 27.
