In his second straight day of mocking Ted Cruz, Stephen Colbert on Thursday decided to pick his own running mate. After losing all five of Tuesday’s primary contests to Donald Trump, Cruz’s chances at securing the Republican presidential nomination are all but dashed. And yet, earlier this week, Cruz announced former rival Carly Fiorina as his vice-presidential pick. So Colbert responded in kind.

“Tonight, after no thought and even less prayer, I am proud to announce my running mate: Former manager of, Julie Wainwright,” Colbert announced.

Wainwright then joined Colbert at his podium, animal puppet and all. But Colbert didn’t stop with his VP. He also brought out his nominee for the Supreme Court: former Chicago Bulls star Michael Jordan — or rather, a cardboard cutout of him.

“MJ wishes he could be here, but unfortunately we have never met, and he doesn’t know this is happening,” Colbert said.
